And now, Baxi innovation has come to the fore once again in the new family of Inset Bermudas, a range whose unique combination of features is once again setting the standard. The concept behind Bermuda central heating has always been a clever one. In your living room is the beautiful focal point of a Bermuda firefront, while hidden behind it is a powerful gas boiler heating up to ten radiators and providing lashings of hot water. By placing the boiler in the unused chimney cavity, you enjoy the maximum usable space in your kitchen. And in today's homes where extra items like dish washers and microwaves are becoming common-place, Baxi's space-creating benefits are more welcome than ever before. If you currently have a boiler in your kitchen, just imagine how much better that space could be used.

If you currently have Bermuda central heating and it was installed after 1980, then it's likely that you can update it with a stylish new Outset or Radiant Firefront. (Inset Firefronts are not available as Renewals).
THE INSET STORY
As the name suggest, each Bermuda Inset 2 FS firefront sits back neatly within the fireplace, looking for all the world like a traditional open coal fire.
This breakthrough has been made possible only by the most advanced back boiler technology yet devised. For the Bermuda Inset 2 range, Baxi engineers have created a powerful boiler so slim that it can hide itself in the small space that remains behind the firefront without needing any structural alteration to the chimney. Which means it couldn't be simpler to enjoy the cosy glow of an Inset firefront in your living room. Plus the economical warmth of today's Bermuda central heating all through your home.
Surely this is an old-fashioned coal fire - can it be a modern gas fire concealing an advanced central heating boiler? Every firefront in the new Bermuda Inset 2 range is exceptionally realistic, featuring an all-new coalbed and flame pattern. This is the most natural flame picture Baxi have ever produced, with a convincing pattern on all heat settings. It's also our most realistic coal effect ever, with individual coals placed on a special ceramic fibre base which faithfully reproduces that warming glow within the heart of the fire. In fact the look is so charmingly traditional, you'll almost forget about the advanced Baxi central heating technology that hides behind it.
Subtle detailing enhances the quality look of every Bermuda Inset 2. And where we use a brass finish, it is always of fine quality and treated with a special protective coating that will maintain the gleaming lustre year after year with no more than the wipe of a duster.
At Baxi we've invested in the most up-to-date computer technology to help our designers in their work and also to maintain the exceptional quality standards throughout our factory. But at the same time we never forget the importance of human care and attention. That's why every Baxi Inset 2 Firefront, like every other Baxi Bermuda, is finished by hand to ensure the specially crafted look that has always been the hallmark of a Baxi product.
The casting of Baxi into the frame of every Inset gives the ultimate seal of approval. As you'd expect from Baxi, the Bermuda Inset 2 range satisfies the most stringent British and European safety standards. You also have the protection of advanced Atmospheric Sensing Devices, which would shut down the gas supply if your chimney became blocked. On a lighter note, Baxi designers have also made the Inset 2 Firefronts very convenient to use, with the simple controls easily accessible behind the fender. In summer, when your Bermuda central heating is turned off, you can always use your Inset 2 Firefront independently should the evening turn chilly. Occasionally, a chimney cavity may be a little too shallow to fully accept a Bermuda Inset 2 boiler and its attached firefront. If this should be the case in your home ,there's no need for you to miss out on all the benefits of today's Bermuda central heating. Baxi has created the solution: a simple extension kit in matching brass effect or black finishes.
For the last word in convenience you can choose an Inset 2 Deluxe model with high level controls discreetly mounted in the fire surround trim. What could be more simple, the flush fitting control panel of the Inset 2 Deluxe.
With the Deluxe model we have cleverly combined easy to use push button controls, attractive styling and built-in safety features. To Avoid accidental ignition the on/off button must be held in for 3-4 seconds. An audible signal lets you know the fire is going through the ignition sequence.

Press and hold the On/Off button for 2-3 seconds. The fire automatically ignites within 20 seconds during which time an audible signal can be heard.

With its intricate period detailing inspired by a fireplace in Chatsworth House, the Bermuda VP3 is the last word in hand-finished luxury.
Where a VP3 firefront is replacing an earlier, wall mounted firefront, its position may be too high for the standard feet to touch the hearth below. These accessories provide an extra 25mm (1") to 51mm (2") expendable legs. Even at first glance this fire can't fail to impress, with its beautifully proportioned canopy in rich black complemented by lavish brass effect detailing. Close inspection then reveals the quality of Baxi technology. The discreet control will activate the electronic ignition and bring those wonderfully realistic flames flickering into life. And thanks to a special three-sided glass, you and your guests will enjoy a clear view of the cosy glow from anywhere in your living room. With electric underbed illumination, you can even enjoy a glowing welcome home on summer evenings when the gas is turned off.

The RG3 was the first gas fire of its type in the world to feature a one-piece rounded glass firefront.
Almost invisible, this unique firefront offers everyone in the room an equally clear view of the fire's
flickering flames, wherever they sit. Complemented by the fire's gently contoured lines and
slim profile, you couldn't wish for a more distinctive focal point in your living room. Close-up, Baxi's attention to detail continues to set this fire apart. The warm dusky brown casing is hand finished and highlighted with champagne lustre, with a subtly embossed decorative frame. And of course the RG3 performs as beautifully as it looks. Electronic ignition brings the flames swiftly to life or, if the evening is too warm for the gas to be on, electric underbed illumination maintains
the cheery glow.
Special needs adaptors and controls are available on every Bermuda Outset or Radiant Firefront,
giving extra leverage for anyone whose wrists are affected by arthritis or similar conditions.

With Its time-honoured styling the GF3 Super has an irresistible charm, one that will always
look fresh and appealing, year after year. An unashamedly traditional look, made all the more
distinguished by Baxi's traditional quality. The black canopy for example is entirely hand-finished and enhanced with champagne lustre and rich chrome detailing. But of course the real beauty of every Bermuda firefront comes to life when you turn on the flames. When it's bitterly cold outside, those softly flickering flames and coals that glow in the heat will warm your heart as well as your
room. While on a balmy summer evening when the gas is off, the electric under-bed illumination will still provide you with a welcoming focal point.

The optional Hearth in black with brass is the perfect traditional complement to the GF3 Super.
For generations it has formed the heart of a home: the welcoming fire, framed to perfection by the
warm tones of fine wood. The LFE5 Super gives you that distinctive centrepiece, fitted simply and
easily onto your wall or a hearth, without the need for a separate surround. At the centre are those wonderfully realistic Bermuda flames licking around coals that actually glow in the heat. These are set off by a grained copper effect canopy with chrome detailing and then placed within a distinctive hand-finished cabinet. Newly redesigned, this cabinet has the added distinction of classical fluted detailing down either side, while the richly grained American Walnut veneer is
the ideal complement for your teak or mahogany furniture. Other touches of Baxi quality include electric underbed illumination, to give you a cosy welcome home even when the fire is off.

The SP3 is perhaps the definitive example of clean, contemporary firefront styling. Mounted on a wall or in a hearth it has a crisp and angular look, its warm charcoal coloured casing enhanced by a silver satin trim. Through the specially designed three-sided window, you and your guests will have a clear view of the flames from every angle. And with electric underbed
illumination that can be switched on when the fire is off, you won't miss out on the SP3's cosy welcome even on summer nights.

Delicate fluting is typical of the thoughtful details that distinguish all Baxi Bermuda Firefronts. Some rooms have a special quality about them: a wonderfully informal character that instantly puts you at your ease, urging you to just sit back, relax and enjoy the company.
Baxi created the SL3 for just such a room. With its combination of charcoal canopy, pepper grey
fender and brass effect detailing its styling is almost casually versatile, effortlessly bridging the gap
between traditional and modern decor themes. And of course, with those flames licking realistically around glowing coals, the SL3 is as welcoming as the rest of your room.

The Baxi Bermuda PW5 Deluxe.
The Bermuda PW5 Deluxe Firefront is luxuriously styled with a softly rounded cabinet and elegantly carved sides. The rich oak colour of the real wood veneer is completed by the textured beige shade of the casing.

The top-mounted controls of the C5 and C5W models couldn't be easier to reach.
Substitute control knob for the C5 and C5W. If your wrists are affected by arthritis or a similar condition, you may welcome extra leverage on the controls of your fire. Firefronts with a side-mounted control knob can be fitted with a special adaptor, while top-mounted controls can be replaced with a special easy-to-use control knob. Please ask your installer for more details.
Have your home fashion ideas changed since your Bermuda was installed? Or perhaps you've inherited an older Bermuda by moving home. If your existing Bermuda boiler is still giving loyal service, but you'd like to update the look of your firefront then here is the perfect solution.
Your new Renewal firefront can be installed without disturbing your
existing Bermuda back boiler.If you have a natural gas Bermuda, then all the Bermuda Outset and Radiant firefronts shown in this brochure are also available as Renewals. For LPG Bermuda owners the C5, C5W Mahogany, SL3, GF3 Super and VP3 are available as Renewals. Subject to boiler compatibility, these
can simply replace your old firefront without disturbing your existing back boiler.N.B. The Bermuda Inset 2 firefronts are not available as renewals.
Generally speaking, any Bermuda boiler installed after 1980 will accept a Renewal firefront. If your boiler is an earlier model then unfortunately it is unlikely you will be able to replace the firefront alone. The boiler numbers opposite are compatible with Renewals. To establish the model number of your boiler, check the information label next to your boiler controls. If the label is not intact then the whole firefront can be removed in order to read the boiler data label. We advise that this is performed by a CORGI registered installer and may incur a charge.
Natural Gas 401,552, 45/3, 57/3 LPG 552
To be sure of a perfect installation, it is advisable to have your fireplace surveyed by a CORGI registered installer, particularly if the Renewal firefront you have chosen is a different size to your
existing one. Your installer should also confirm that your existing boiler is in good working order.The VP3, GF3 Super and SL3 models are intended for hearth mounting. This is an important consideration when fitting a Renewal firefront as a replacement for a wall mounted fire.
If you're unable to renew your Bermuda firefront alone, it could be the perfect time to take a close look at the latest generation of Baxi Bermuda central heating. Many advances have been made by Baxi in back boiler technology, with the latest generation of Bermuda boilers more powerful and more energy efficient than ever before. So although you unfortunately don't have the option of a renewal firefront, you do have the very exciting opportunity to invest in a brand new Baxi Bermuda
boiler and firefront. Not only will you then be able to continue with economical central heating that saves you valuable kitchen space, but you'll also be able to choose any of the superb firefronts.
